It is extremely important the 2017-18 school year be one where the relationship between the school district leadership and African American/African community be rejuvenated and strengthened.
Moving forward, we want to regularly engage in dialogue on what the district is doing on behalf of AA/AS, with observable data based progress reports.
- all parties must engage in improved communication and trust building for substantive accountability re AA/AS.
- trust building must be built one block at a time by respect, transparency, follow through, and a sense of urgency.
- AAAE/AASSC is committed to working as a partner with the district leadership to address the many challenges associated with achieving equitable educational opportunities and outcomes for
AA/AS.
