Our Mission

The Association of African American Educators was founded to provide academic support advocacy to students throughout San Diego County. The primary objective of our volunteer association is to address the educational needs and conditions of African American Students enrolled in PreK-12 schools and to provide training and professional development opportunities for teachers, school administrators, and other school staff. Our association has been in existence since 1983 and some of our activities include:

  • Annual AAAE Educators Conference
  • Summit 
  • Scholarship Awards
  • Student Award Program
  • Welcome Back School and End of the Year Social
  • Personnel Support and Advocacy
  • Monthly Meetings with Superintendents
  • Other social, political & cultural events
